As this is our 34th year of offering camps, our counselors are among the most experienced chess teachers found anywhere.

Those are the reasons parents want their kids to attend, but kids like to come back to our chess camps year after year because we have fun. There are daily outings to the park for seasonal activities (Frisbee, soccer, hiking), so dress for outdoor action. Bring your lunch.

Beginner and intermediate lessons are offered on Mondays 4:30 to 6:00 pm and Tuesdays 6:00 to 7:30pm. Lessons run in 5-11 week blocks. To sign up, call or just show up. Join at any time in the block; the fee will be pro-rated. We encourage you to bring a friend.

Tutoring: Our top instructors (Ken McBride, Dave Lusignan, Toby Rizzo, and Matt Slomski) are available for tutoring at $42/hr (non-member) or $30/hr (member). Call for availability of times. Many of our top students take private tutoring….perhaps this will advance you to being a top student.
Kids tournaments: Every Saturday 10am-1pm at the Chess Center. Cost is $8 and players have the option of playing rated or non-rated games. These Saturday games are great fun, and teach the discipline of recording moves and budgeting time on the chess clock.
Adult tournaments: Many of our young students have fun playing in these events. Check with your instructor to see if you are ready to play in events such as: every Monday rated league (7pm), every Wednesday rated games (7:30pm), every Saturday afternoon rated tournament (2pm).
Chess Camps (when you have time off from school, keep your mind active). Camp is $71 per day ($50 members), $355 for a 5 day week ($250members):

Individual membership is $115 for 12 months, family is $185. Membership benefits include 30% discount on lessons and camps, 20% discount on merchandise, a snack bar discount and a free family picnic.

Participants can expect to play 3 to 5 games.
There is often some time for instruction during the Saturday tournaments in the form of analysis of completed games.
